How Does Sweat Reduction Treatment Work?
At your initial consultation, Dr. Reddy will discuss both treatment options to help you decide which one may be ideal for you. BOTOX and RF microneedling are both FDA-approved to treat underarm sweat. For BOTOX, the injections target the nerves in that area to block the glands from producing too much sweat. RF microneedling, on the other hand, utilizes a handheld device that emits focused RF energy to the sweat glands. The heat from the device causes a thermal tissue reaction and destroys the sweat glands. Both procedures are relatively quick with no downtime. Once the treatment is done, you will be free to return to your normal routine.
